Our Vision

Welcome to our website where we would like to introduce you to our
exciting proposals for Truro Community Hub, an innovative design to provide new
and refurbished high quality, sustainable, and flexible community space in the heart
of our evolving city.
This transformational and deliverable project will enable community cohesion and
resilience through the provision of exceptional, adaptable facilities, accessible for
all, cementing the role of this landmark Grade II Listed building as part of a more
resilient, culturally alive community in our city.
We were delighted to be included as one of the projects put forward by the Truro
Town Deal Board to the Government for a grant to help fund the scheme.
Engagement with our local communities is vital to sharing and shaping our dream.
We have already held consultation with local community stakeholders and
representatives as well as Historic England, the Methodist Church’s conservation
team and Cornwall Council. We have engaged a specialist design team with
experience of working on community hubs and important historic buildings.
An extensive, professionally conducted, community audit undertaken in 2018,
shaped the development of the Project alongside a diverse range of existing users,
as well as identifying opportunities for developing uses in the future.
Members of the project team would be delighted to answer any questions regarding
the project and feedback forms have been provided to capture your comments.
We look forward to discussing our proposals with you and receiving your feedback.

For 200 years, the people of Truro have been welcomed and served by Truro
Methodist Church. We have an established track-record of developing and
evolving our plans and resourcing, so that the changing needs of our community
are met.
In 2016 the church began an ambitious plan to establish a community and church
resource centre that could serve the city for the next generation. Truro Community
Hub adapts an existing historic city centre building for a modern purpose. It will be a
high quality, modern, sustainable and accessible hub that provides new facilities in a
sensitively designed extension, in addition to refurbished spaces in a re-purposed
Grade II listed building.
Truro Community Hub will provide a new community space where all residents can
meet, learn new skills, access support, volunteer, gain work experience, meet
employers, enjoy leisure and cultural activities and feel part of our evolving city.
It will be a place where people of all ages, backgrounds, faiths and orientations can
connect with each other, be part of a wider network of community support and be
part of shaping their city’s future as well as improving their own quality of life.
A key part of The Hub will be its role in providing information on the progress of Towns
Fund projects. Local people will be able to find out what is planned, get involved,
learn new skills, connect with employers, meet other people and volunteer to
support other projects.
